FAQs

Mark Scott Arenas - FAQs

Please see our FAQ's below:

How long will the construction take?

Anything from 14 days depending on the arena size.

Will we be able to ride on the new surface straight away?

Yes, Our MSA  Fibremix surface can be ridden on carefully straightaway, subject to our surface conditioning and maintenance schedule.
Or Our Premixed Waxed surface options are very robust and can also be ridden on straightaway after construction.

How often should I Groom my arena?

Every situation is different, once we know the surface involved and the intensity of its use we can make recomendations.
We offer a Grooming service with our 750 cc quad bike and trailed Groomer.
Premixed surfaces require less maintenance.

Will I need planning permission for my stables and arena?

Nearly always, YES will be the answer.
We can help you with our proffessional service to try and avoid frustration, disappointment and  sometimes protracted  council  conditions imposed prior to commencement.

Please be aware while councils state 8 week decission processes, in our experience this never happens these days, invariably conditions are part of approvals and need to be addressed and cleared prior to construction, additional time scales are provided by councils for this process, usually at least another 8 weeks and some times several months will pass before a descision is provided.

Can we submit the application ourselves?

Of course, more sucess will be achievable if you have experience with Form filling and  gathering maps and other relevant information and can organise topographical and other appropriate surveys, including the  environmental ones that will be required.

Try not to get frustrated by official council protocols and their demands officers are duty bound to request  environmental and other information to sit with your file.  .
