We have been receiving calls with many peoples Arenas reportedly riding deeper than normal. This is all a result of the long dry spell we are currently enduring.
Your surface needs moisture to stick it all together, much like the wet sand on the beach.
To maintain a firm surface water needs to be applied to wet the sand, this would best be done now by using water from a nearby pond or lake either by gravity or pumped to a sprinkler on the surface . We are not irrigation specialists so are merely making suggestions to assist those practicle people in maintaing their surfaces.
Our MSA Fibretek incorperated in to a surface greatly assists in retaining moisture and firming up the "Going".
The above image is of an automated pourous pipe irrigation system being installed by our specialist partners at Arena construction time, this is an extremly effecient and inexpensive way of getting water in the sand by capilary action to provide a seasonally consistant and firm ride.
Clearly those people who have invested in Waxed Surfaces will now be reaping the benefit of a consistantly firm surface too .
