Can we submit a planning application ourselves?

Of course. Greater success is likely if you’re confident with form-filling, sourcing maps, and organising necessary surveys—including topographical and environmental assessments. Try not to get discouraged by council protocols. Planning officers are duty-bound to request supporting information, including environmental reports, to complete your file.

Will I need planning permission for my stables and arena?

Nearly always, the answer is YES. We offer a professional planning service to help you avoid unnecessary delays, frustration, or restrictive council conditions. Please Note: while councils state an 8-week decision timeline, this is rarely met in practice. Conditions are often attached to approvals and must be satisfied before construction begins. Councils typically allow an additional 8 weeks for this, but it can often take several months before final approval is granted.

How often should I groom my arena?

Every situation is different. Once we know the type of surface and how intensively it's used, we can make tailored recommendations. We offer a grooming service using our 750cc quad bike and trailed groomer. Pre-mixed surfaces generally require less maintenance.

Will we be able to ride on the new surface straight away?

Yes. Our MSA Fibremix surface can be ridden on carefully straight away, subject to our surface conditioning and maintenance schedule. Alternatively, our pre-mixed waxed surface options are very robust and can also be ridden on immediately after construction.

How long will the construction take?

Anything from 14 days, depending on the size of the arena.
